London Marathon 2014

For over 20 years, Quaystone Church has been running the water station at mile 17 or the London Marathon.
This year is no different, and with 4 runners from our Church, we'll all be out to support them!

Here's a bit more about each of our runners:
Jim is running his 6th London Marathon for Quaystone, as he has done every year he has run. His daughter Michelle Turner is running with him this year, and their ‘Dad and Daughter Run’ is raising money for Foodbank. This is Michelle's first Marathon , and they are running together to celebrate Jim running at 70!
"It’s my first marathon (ahh!), and I will be running for the MS society. My Dad was diagnosed with MS in 2002, and since then, life has been full of ups and downs, struggles and triumphs. However, I know that God is in this, and I’ve seen that He’s very good at turning things around for His glory! The MS society  have supported my family throughout a very difficult time, so this is my  way of saying thank you.”

“I'm raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in 2014 Virgin Money London Marathon. I know I said last year was the last year, but....I got a ballot place this year, and well it just wouldn't be a complete year if I didn't have a go at the London Marathon. This year in memory of brother Dave. If you are counting, this is marathon number 21! “After 10 years of idleness, and 5 years of handing out water at the 17-mile mark, I decided it was high time to cross the barriers and do the race myself. So, I am staggering around London, and raising money for one of my favourite local charities, Crossroads Counselling. Crossroads do an amazing job of providing low-cost, professional counselling to children and adults in Tower Hamlets.”
